If you get pregnant while you’re on steroids, don’t stop taking them before you’ve spoken to your doctor. Your doctor may advise you to take drugs called bisphosphonates, or calcium and vitamin D supplements, along with the steroids to help prevent this.

Examples of bacteria which commonly cause respiratory infections include Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Moraxella catarrhalis and Mycoplasma pneumoniae.
